Doha, The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) will celebrate the 7th World Walking Day 2019 on Thursday in Katara.
The event is under the Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA), which is responsible for sport for all in the world.
The event is held in collaboration with the Qatar Diabetes Association and Katara. It highlights the importance of walking on health and support the concept of sport for all.
Last year, QOC celebrated the World Walking Day at Aspire Park. The event was attended by several veteran Qatari athletes, Aspire employees, Qatari scouts, and QOC staff, as well as students representing 12 schools.
The World Walking Day aims to instill the concept of sport for all and to encourage all members of the society to practice types of non-competitive sports activities that help promote physical activity. Walking is the least stressful, safest and most acceptable sport for all people at any stage of life.
