Doha, Saturday's early Round 20 QSL fixture saw El Jaish beat relegation threatened Al Shahania 2-1 at Al Arabi Stadium, Jaish's Uzbek international, Sardor Rashidov, was lurking in the box and pounced on the mistake, poking the ball into an open goal from just three yards out to give Jaish the lead.
Jaish came out looking the brighter team in the second half and should have made it 2-0 after just two minutes of play when their Brazilian danger man, Romarinho, found himself on the end of a pin point cross from Rashidov just five yards from goal. Romarinho misjudged the cross though and instead missed the ball with his diving header and the chance was wasted.
Jaish maintained the pressure and made it 2-0 on the 62nd minute when Rashidov bagged his second of the game with a lightning bolt of a free kick from 25 yards out that left Al Shahania's goalkeeper with no chance. Jaish should have sealed all three points minutes later when Romarinho was awarded a penalty after being brought down inside the box. The Brazilian stepped up to take the spot kick on the 64th minute but produced an effort on his right which was easily saved.
