The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it summoned the Moldovan ambassador to Moscow to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, and prevented a number of Moldovan officials from entering the country, in protest against the decision to reduce the number of employees of the Russian embassy in Chisinau.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Moldova will have consequences for bilateral relations and will affect the citizens of the two countries, whose chances of receiving consular assistance will decrease in a timely manner.
