Saudi Arabia Elected President of Arab Permanent Committee on Meteorology

The Arab Permanent Committee on Meteorology today voted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue as president of the committee under the chairmanship of CEO of the National Center for Meteorology (NCM), Dr Ayman bin Salem Ghulam. The vote was cast during the 37th meeting of the committee, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League in Cairo.

During the meeting, several items submitted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were discussed, including the research, development and innovation roadmap of NCM and climate change scenarios for the 21st century on the Arabian Peninsula and the adoption and activation of the recommendations of the international workshop held in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on January 18 and 19, 2023.

The third meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab Council of Ministers Responsible for Meteorology and Climate is scheduled to be held tomorrow in preparation for the third ministerial meeting.
