Saudi Food and Drug Authority CEO Meets Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry

The CEO of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), Dr. Hisham bin Saad Aljadhey, met today in New Delhi with Indian Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal.

The two ministers discussed opportunities for collaboration and investment in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to strengthen the close relationship between the two countries. They talked about coordinating with Indian regulatory authorities and companies to enhance exports of medicines and food to the Kingdom and finding solutions to the challenges they face in ensuring product quality and safety while increasing their volume.

Dr. Aljadhey highlighted the significant progress made by Indian products imported to the Kingdom. He noted the technical and health requirements for importing food that SFDA signed with the India’s Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA). Additionally, he discussed his meeting with regulatory authorities and pharmaceutical companies during his recent visit to India.
