SAVE THE DREAM AND QSL TO JOIN FORCES TO PROMOTE SPORT VALUES IN ROUND 26

Doha, – The Qatar Stars League will join forces with Save the Dream this weekend on the final Round of the 2017/17 season to promote the importance of protecting the values of sport for young people in Qatar and around the world.

As part of the activities this weekend, which coincide with Lekhwiya lifting the QSL Falcon Shield as QSL 2016 / 17 Champions, children and young athletes from the International School of London and Birla School will walk onto the field with players from Al Shahania and Lekhwiya, as well as inspirational films from Save the Dream projects being played at QSL stadia across Qatar.

Since Save the Dream was established in 2012, the QSL and Qatar football community has strongly supported various social projects run in Qatar by Save the Dream, including recently hosting a special blind football match on National Sport Day 2017 which featured several high-profile players from Al Sadd SC.

The activities with the Qatar Stars League will take part during Save the Dream Week 2017 – an annual event hosted by Save the Dream – which takes place between 19th 23rd April to help raise awareness about giving more disabled young people access to sport.

Donations from Save the Dream Week this year will help give more disabled young people better access to artificial limbs and aids to help them play sport and lead a healthy lifestyle.

As a global non-profit Movement of organisations, people and athletes who believe in the power of sport to build more fair and inclusive societies, Save the Dream is committed to promoting and protecting the core values of sport to help young people and future generations and using sport as a vehicle to encourage integrity, respect and inclusion within society.(QNA)
