The Senate’s Jordanian-Turkish Brotherhood Committee, headed by Dr. Yassin Husban, discussed Sunday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Jordan, Ismail Armaz, bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the parliamentary area.

Husban stressed the “deep-rooted” Jordanian-Turkish relations, which are witnessing “remarkable” progress at various levels, especially in economic, commercial and tourism fields, praising Armaz’s role for his efforts that had a “significant” impact in strengthening bilateral relations.

Referring to the bilateral agreements in the education and trade fields, Husban lauded Turkey’s position in support of the Kingdom’s stance towards the Palestinian cause and the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.

The Turkish envoy, for his part, stressed the importance of efforts aimed to strengthen joint friendship ties, and open the way for increasing cooperation in various fields to achieve common interests.

The diplomat also announced the launch of a direct travel route between Istanbul and Aqaba, which will operate March next year.

Armaz, moreover, expressed his keenness to hold more discussions, which would strengthen Jordanian-Turkish relations in all fields.

The committee’s members called on increasing level of joint economic, trade and tourism cooperation, in light of Jordan’s “attractive” investment environment and the need to provide facilitations to increase the two countries’ exports.
