Detachments of the Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate arrested a defendant sentenced to death in absentia (by hanging until death) in accordance with the provisions of Article 406 of the Penal Code, for committing the murder of a citizen in 2016, east of Baghdad.
The Directorate stated in a statement that the arrest operation was carried out by forming a joint work team from Al-Quds Office detachments and Al-Karama Office detachments to combat crime, and after investigating and gathering information, the whereabouts of the accused were reached, where an elaborate ambush was set up, he was arrested, and a motorcycle was seized in his possession.
