The Integrity Commission arrests an officer with the rank of major in the Maysan Anti-Narcotics Office in the act of bribery

The Investigation Department of the Federal Integrity Commission announced that it had carried out an arrest operation against an officer in the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs Department in Maysan Governorate.

The Investigation Department stated in a statement, “The Maysan Investigation Office team was able to apprehend an officer who holds the rank of major in the Department of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs in the province, against the background of his request for a bribe from the brother of one of the detainees, in exchange for the help of his arrested brother.

It added, “The accused agreed with the arrestee’s brother on a sum of money and took an iPhone 14 Pro Max mobile phone from him in exchange for helping his brother, who was arrested on drug charges, pointing out that the accused pledged to write down his statement and deny the charge against him.”

It continued, “The accused was arrested after the approval of his reference and based on the arrest warrant issued by the Investigation Court for Integrity Cases in Maysan Governorate, in accordance with the provisions of Resolution 160 of 1983.”
