Three Turkish Presidential Candidates Cast Their Votes

The three candidates of the Turkish presidency casted their votes in the presidential and parliamentary elections that started across Turkiye at 8 am Sunday and will continue until 5 pm local time.

Turkish President and People’s Alliance’s presidential candidate Recep Tayyip Erdogan casted his vote at the polling station in Istanbul, while the candidate for the Nation Alliance Kemal Kilicdaroglu casted his vote at a polling station in Ankara.

In a brief statement, President Erdogan said he has been following up on the electoral process since early morning, adding that the process is moving ahead without any problems, calling on the citizens to exercise their right and cast their votes.

For his part, the presidential candidate of the nationalist ATA Alliance Sinan Ogan headed to the Cankaya district of Ankara to cast his vote.

Since Sunday morning, voters started to cast their votes in all regions across the country to elect a new president for a five-year term and select the 600 parliament members.

In addition, each candidate seeks to win the presidential elections from the first round by getting 50 percent + 1 of the votes to avoid going to a second round on May 28.
