UAE an oasis of peaceful coexistence: Hamdan Al Mazrouei

ABU DHABI, Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohamed bin Zayed University for Humanities, said the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has become a global humanitarian capital and an oasis of peaceful coexistence.

He also highlighted the importance of the country’s humanitarian and development role in improving people’s lives, noting that its humanitarian approach is a core component of its foreign policy.

In his statement on the occasion of the annual World Humanitarian Day on 19th August, he said that the initiatives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed have made the country a leading humanitarian donor and supported its efforts to protect human dignity and ease people’s suffering.

Al Mazrouei also lauded the approach to humanitarian giving of the UAE’s leadership, which established a model to be followed in addressing humanitarian issues.

He then pointed out that the UAE’s prominent humanitarian stature is based on the foundations established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who began the country’s cultural legacy of humanitarian and charity work, based on the clear vision and noble intentions of the UAE’s Founding Fathers.

The university is celebrating World Humanitarian Day by promoting the universal humanitarian values it has adopted and is spreading among the community and its students, through launching a range of community and volunteer activities, in coordination and cooperation with national authorities and establishments that are part of the international humanitarian scene, he said in conclusion.
