UAE dedicates resources to knowledge-based development: Fatima bint Mubarak

ABU DHABI: H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the ‘Mother of the Nation,’ Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has underscored the UAE’s unwavering commitment to fostering a future founded on knowledge and human development, emphasising the nation’s dedication to building a robust developmental framework rooted in education and innovation.

Reiterating the UAE’s focus on nurturing a knowledge-based economy, Sheikha Fatima emphasised the country’s efforts to invest resources towards this goal. She stressed that these endeavours aim to lead the nation towards a future aligned with its people’s aspirations.

This came in a speech she delivered upon receiving the “Honorary Educational Personality Award” at the 17th Khalifa Award for Education. The award acknowledges her pivotal role in advancing the educational process, fostering excellence in education, and promoting it on a
local, Arab, and global scale.

Sheikha Fatima re-affirmed the pivotal role of education in shaping the nation’s future. She also underlined that education remains a top priority for the UAE leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court; and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

Furthermore, Sheikha Fatima underscored the significance of family in complementing the state’s efforts to nurture future generations. She stressed the role of parents, particularly mothers, in instilling values, morals, and a sense of national identity in their children. She urged parents to embrace their roles with love, respect, and understanding, fostering environments conducive to their children’s holistic development.

In conclusion, Sheikha
Fatima said, “We emphasise the importance of concerted efforts and joint work to protect families from the risks they face in a world full of fluctuations resulting from the challenges imposed by the digital age, emphasising the protection of our cultural heritage and authentic identity.”
