SHARJAH, The University of Sharjah (UoS), in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior (MoI), has launched the Professional Diploma in Conferences and Exhibitions Management, supervised by the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the UoS.
The announcement came during a press conference held at the university in the presence of Prof. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, UoS Chancellor; Brigadier Mohamed Ahmed Al Shamsi, Director of Public Relations Department at Ministry of Interior; and Prof. Radhi Al Zubaidi, Director of Continuous Education Centre and Professional Development, UoS.
The programme will begin on 19th September till 25th November, and consists of 110 hours with the participation of 26 employees from the MoI. This programme aims at providing participants with the administrative skills required to effectively organise and evaluate conferences and exhibitions to ensure the success of various events.
During the conference, Al Naimiy welcomed the attendees and participants, pointing to the UoS’s continuous keenness to cooperate with various institutes and authorities in the UAE to serve the people and the society under the directives and patronage H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah.
He stressed that the university has a reputable position at the local, regional and international level, according to the latest ranking of world universities, and its progress in various scientific fields, including medicine, health sciences, computing and informatics, besides its continuous support of scientific research.
Al Shamsi expressed his happiness with cooperating with the University of Sharjah in launching this fundamental training programme, under the directives of the police leadership, to partner with all authorities and governmental institutes, including the UoS.
For his part, Prof. AlZubaidi highlighted the importance of this professional diploma, stating that it consists of 110 hours and includes nine training axes aimed at training in the management of hosting conferences and exhibitions, planning and determining the budget, inviting guests, promoting the event, planning exhibitions, evaluating the effectiveness of conferences organised as well as acquiring protocol skills in conferences, visits and exhibitions.
