Uzbek-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group Head to QNA: Qatar Highly Respected among Uzbek People

HE Head of the Uzbek-Qatari parliamentary friendship group in the Oliy Majlis (parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nodir Jumayev welcomed the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to his country, at the outset of His Highness’s tour of a number of countries in Central Asia.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency , Jumayev highlighted the standout Uzbekistan-Qatar relations at the levels of both leaderships and peoples, hailing HH the Amir’s visit to Samarkand as an important opportunity to robust cooperation in all sectors, including the parliamentary and popular fields.

He added that the mutual visits between officials of both countries would open continuous communication channels that pave the way for a comprehensive partnership in economy, trade, tourism and culture, especially with the two countries’ many common denominators.

The Uzbek-Qatari Parliamentary Friendship Group will work for its part to coordinate and consolidate relations between Uzbekistan’s Oliy Majlis (Parliament) and Qatar’s Shura Council, as parliamentary relations are very important in advancing bilateral cooperation among countries, Jumayev told QNA.

The State of Qatar is highly revered among Uzbek people, who eagerly watched Qatar’s impressive success in organizing an unprecedented FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 edition, he added, hailing the superb organization as a merit for Qatar and the Asian and Islamic countries.

HH the Amir’s visit to the country will be a turning point in the course of bilateral relations, and bodes well for the future of bilateral cooperation, HE Jumayev said, adding that all parties in the two countries will work to bolster joint cooperation in all aspects.
