ABU DHABI, The Emirates News Agency (WAM) participated in the activities of UAE Innovation Month (UAE Innovates 2023), which underscored the vision of the country’s leadership to promote the culture of innovation.
WAM has been keen to adopt the best national and international practices related to the concept of innovation, by inaugurating several initiatives and projects, as well as adopting an innovation-based approach.
Under this framework, WAM launched the “WAM News System,” the first digital system of its kind in the region, which aligns with the best international media practices.
The system was inaugurated during the Global Media Congress in November 2022.
The System is a comprehensive smart portal that organises flow and management of information, facilitating various types of media coverage. It aims to promote journalism and provide advanced digital solutions while maintaining the confidentiality and safety of information, in line with the highest relevant international standards.
WAM hosted various events and initiatives as part of UAE Innovation Month, including a workshop for employees, titled, “The Innovation”, which aimed to introduce them to the federal government’s concept and vision of innovation.
At the end of UAE Innovation Month, WAM today honoured its employees who participated in the competition, titled, “The Innovation Workshop 2023,” which aimed to encourage them to be innovative.
