ABU DHABI, Emirati institutions are celebrating the 8th edition of UAE Innovation Month (UAE innovates), which embodies the UAE leadership’s vision to promote the culture of innovation in the country.
The Emirates News Agency (WAM) is keen to adopt an innovation-based approach in all its work, so it launched the digital WAM News System, the first of its kind in the region, which was programmed by Emirati cadres. The system is based on the latest artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies. It is a comprehensive and advanced digital system that that enables the agency to receive, draft and edit news items and broadcast news stories with visual and video materials. This system will enhance the efficiency of the agency and play a crucial role in the country’s development process.
The digital WAM News System is capable of evaluating quality in accordance with international standards and features smart recognition of images and videos, ensuring that media materials are accurate and of high quality. It is also designed to manage alerts and media coverage both within and outside the country, and to schedule and link content with specialist equipment, plan, implement, and set deadlines. This system is truly a testament to the UAE’s commitment to innovation and to staying at the forefront of the latest technology and advancements.
Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, the Director-General of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), announced that the UAE Innovation Month is a trailblazing national event designed to foster and enhance the nation’s culture of innovation.
In keeping with the aspirations of the UAE’s leadership, WAM has been committed to leveraging cutting-edge technologies and AI, all while relying on the skills and expertise of local talent. This is exemplified by the launch of the WAM News System, Al Rayssi noted.
