Amman, Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abul Saud commended the deep and strong Jordanian Qatari ties, which His Majesty King Abdullah II and his brother HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, have laid their foundations in all fields, especially the water sector.

During a meeting with Qatar's Ambassador to Jordan Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, Abul Saud highlighted efforts and achievements of the water sector in Jordan and keenness to strengthen cooperation and exchange of expertise with Arab countries, especially with Qatar in various fields of water.

He pointed to Jordan's experience in dealing with water scarcity under exceptional circumstances created by the Syrian crisis and its consequences. The water sector strategic plan includes several short, medium and long-term programs and projects to address the water situation and mechanisms adopted by the water sector management, especially in crises, he added.

The Qatari ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the Jordanian efforts in the water sector, stressing the importance of enhancing relations between the two countries in various fields and building on them as well as Qatar commitment to support Jordan in all domains.
