WFP employee killed in Yemen’s Taiz

An employee of the World Food Program, holding the Jordanian nationality, was killed by an unknown gunman, in the city of Al-Turbah, south of Taiz governorate, southwest Yemen, on Friday.

The assailant opened fire at a patrons of a restaurant in Al-Turbah during the lunch time, injuring several of them, including Muayad Hamidi, a WFP employee who died later at hospital, the security committee of Taiz said in a statement following its emergency meeting.

The security committee confirmed that it is tracking down the perpetrators of this crime, calling on citizens to report any information that may help arrest the criminals.
