Yemeni Red Crescent in Hajjah celebrates World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day

The Yemeni Red Crescent Society’s branch in Hajjah province celebrated on Monday the World Day of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement by inaugurating a workshop in the field of volunteering and the safe access mechanism.

The two-day workshop, supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), aims to provide skills to 20 volunteers from the Red Crescent Society’s branch volunteers in providing services in disaster situations.

At the opening of the workshop, attended by the ICRC’s Assistant Coordinator, the Executive Director of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society, Dr. Muhammad Al-Ghaili, reviewed the activities implemented by the Society’s branch in the province.

He confirmed the society’s keenness to support the efforts of Hajjah’s branch to improve performance and develop services in rural areas according to priorities.

Kharibava and the Executive Director of the Yemeni Red Crescent Society were briefed on the services provided by the emergency center of the Society’s branch in the governorate.

After that, the ICRC’s official and Dr. Al-Ghaili were briefed on the services provided by the medical departments of the emergency center of the Red Crescent Society’s branch in the province.
