Youth volunteer work team to combat COVID launched, 3rd, final add

Director of the Interior Ministry’s Local Development, Governor Mohammad As-Sarhan, said that this meeting comes within the framework of the great national efforts to eradicate the pandemic and falls within the ministry’s priorities in supporting young people and their involvement in national initiatives.

The initiative includes training courses to activate the role of young volunteers in raising awareness of the measures to prevent Covid and to encourage members of the targeted communities to obtain a vaccine against the virus.

The first round of capacity building training, which targeted 60 male and female volunteers from the governorates of Jerash, Madaba and Balqa, concluded today.

Interactive and participatory capacity-building programs focus on disseminating basic health information related to the need for vaccination against the virus, preventive measures, pandemic-related laws, and “SANAD” services.

This initiative, implemented within the framework of the “Local Governments Network” project, will promote the principles of civic participation for youth, and will work to increase trust between citizens and public institutions.
