Al-Hamli meets Deputy Director of Operations and Advocacy at OCHA

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, met today the Deputy Director of the Operations and Advocacy Department at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs “OCHA” Ghada Madawi, who is currently visiting Sana’a.

The meeting, which was attended by the head of the International Cooperation Department of the Council, Ali Al-Kahlani, and the Director of the OCHA office in Yemen, Sajjad Muhammad Sajid, discussed ways to enhance the level of coordination between the Council and OCHA according to the priorities of humanitarian needs.

Al-Hamli welcomed the UN official on her visit to Yemen, pointing out that the visit will allow her to see the catastrophic repercussions of the aggression and siege imposed on the Yemeni people for more than eight years on various aspects of daily life.

Al-Hamli stressed the importance of continuous strengthening of cooperation with all humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen in facing the growing humanitarian challenges, needs, according to joint plans, and making more efforts to achieve the desired goals.

For her part, the Deputy Director of Operations at OCHA indicated the endeavor to alleviate human suffering.

The meeting was attended by the directors of all international organizations, Turki Jameel, and the directors of projects and planning, Jamal Breah.
