CGB Holds Workshop to Introduce Most In-Demand Majors

Doha, The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau (CGB), with the presence and participation of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, organized an introductory workshop at Qatar University for new students to provide support and guidance for their educational and professional paths.

The workshop comes within the framework of the CGB’s commitment to empowering students and helping them reach their professional goals.

During the workshop, the workforce planning management team in the government sector and representatives of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education provided valuable information about future career opportunities and the most in-demand majors in Qatar that are also required for the government scholarship program.

Director of the workforce planning department in the government sector at the CGB Sheikha Noura bint Hamad Al-Thani said that by organizing such workshops, the CGB seeks to strengthen its partnership with Qatar University and highlight the importance of preparing new students for their professional future and be involved in the job market.

She said that the workshops are a great opportunity to communicate, introduce and guide the students to future career opportunities and the most in-demand majors in Qatar that are also required for the government scholarship program, which would help students determine their vision and path for the future and help build their career plans.

The CGB are committed to supporting students to achieve their professional goals and they hope that this workshop will contribute to helping students make informed decisions when choosing majors that best suit their ambitions based on future career opportunities, Al-Thani added.

During the workshop, the attendees’ questions were answered by the representatives regarding specializations and career opportunities to better expand their professional prospects and guide them toward a promising future career.

The CGB continues to organize such workshops to empower students and direct them toward the required professions and establish a generation that is capable of facing professional challenges. This also comes as part of the CGB’s efforts to support and guide new students to achieve their future goals in light of the ongoing transformations in the job market.

The core specialization of the CGB’s departments is to make sure that the educational outcomes meet the required jobs, in addition to preparing the plan for student scholarships and developing a plan for professional guidance and counseling programs for job seekers in coordination with the competent authorities.
