Conditions of affected, displaced people in Hajjah discussed


The Branch director of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Hajjah province has discussed with the new representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Yemen the humanitarian situation of the displaced and affected people in the province.

Allan Fadhayel and Marine Dean touched on the suffering of the displaced and affected people and their necessary needs to alleviate some of their suffering as well as the interventions of humanitarian partners that do not cover the necessary need.

He reviewed the role of the Commission in implementing an advocacy campaign to convey the suffering of the province’s displaced people to cover the need of thousands of families displaced by the continuation of the current situation and in light of the suspension of aid and the multiplication of suffering as a result of depriving the community of the simplest necessities of life.

Fadhayel expressed the hope that the meeting would be a good start for projects tha
t touch upon the concerns and aspirations of the most affected province, stressing the keenness of the leadership of the Council and the province to provide the necessary facilities to the Commission.

In turn, Dean appreciated the facilities provided to the Commission to implement its humanitarian projects in the province.

He explained that the visit comes to review the situation in the camps for the displaced, learn about the need, and convey the suffering to the donors so that they can carry out their humanitarian role in providing support to the Commission to implement its tasks and make efforts to alleviate the suffering of the displaced.
