Constituent board chief: Abdullah Al-Salem University completes KU message

Abdullah Al-Salem University (AAU) aims at completing the message of the Kuwait University (KU) and meet present and future requirements during several specialties, said Dr. Adel Al-Hosainan, AAU Constituent Board Secretary General, Saturday.

In an interview with KUNA, Al-Hosainan expressed appreciation for confidence the board gained from the political leadership represented in His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Al-Hosainan lauded the political leadership’s support to establish the AAU as part of a series of the government universities in order to contribute to boosting science and meeting all labor market requirements.

The AAU published some advertisements for some supervising and administrative jobs, which include some heads for posts and employees, he said.

In addition, some 389 lecturers applied for some academic posts at the university, he said, adding that 50 percent of them are Kuwaitis and the others are from different countries, including the Arabs, all over the world.

Al-Hosainan indicated that the AAU includes three faculties of the bachelor’s degree, namely College of Engineering and Energy which is divided into three majors; Biomedical Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering.

College of Computing and Systems, which includes four majors and College of Management and Entrepreneurship with some majors, including Entrepreneurship, Innovation and others, he pointed out.

Al-Hosainan referred to fruitful cooperation and coordination between the AAU and KU, and praised the latter’s unlimited support aiming to enable the AAU to start its mission and get some sites and facilities.

Cooperation between the two institutions is based on mutual understanding in terms of using some scientific labs and centers in some sites affiliated to KU, he stated.
