Five Israeli settlers wounded in Jerusalem

At least five settlers Monday were injured after facing a run-over incident in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

One of the five was seriously wounded, an Israeli police statement said, adding that a police officer shot dead the driver.

The driver, who is in his thirties, is a resident of Beit Safafa town near East Jerusalem, it added.

This came at a time when Israel authorities announced imposing a comprehensive closure of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as of Monday evening until Wednesday midnight, in addition to enhancing the forces in the West Bank to secure the ceremony of the so-called ‘commemorating the killed soldiers’.
