Handing over captive Faisal Rajab to Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Bayda tribes

The prisoner, Major General Faisal Rajab, was handed over today, Sunday, in Al-Sha’ab Mosque in the capital, Sana’a, to the tribal sheikhs of Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Bayda provinces, who lined up to receive him.

During the reception and the press conference held on the occasion, a member of the Supreme Political Council, Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi, explained that the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, redressed the thoughts of the people of Abyan province who will return with Major General Faisal Rajab.

It is considered this a tribute from the revolution leader to Abyan tribes and pride in their presence in the capital, Sana’a, calling on all tribes to follow the example of the sheikhs of Abyan in bridging the gap, healing wounds, and stopping the bloodshed in the southern provinces.

Al-Rahwi renewed his welcome to the tribes and people of Abyan, Shabwa and Al-Bayda provinces in the capital, Sana’a, the capital of all Yemenis, the capital of steadfastness and steadfastness.

In turn, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor indicated that the directives of the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to release the military commander, Faisal Rajab, came in response to the demand of Yemenis in general, and in particular the people of Abyan province who came to Sana’a.

He explained that the decision has more than one meaning and significance, the most important of which is that the leadership in Sana’a is not in the process of taking revenge on one of the parties, and that it does not move according to the concept of reaction against this or that.

Bin Habtoor pointed out that Faisal Rajab is a well-known military commander who did not participate in the war at all, indicating that he was arrested with his colleagues Mahmoud al-Subaihi and Nasser Mansour Hadi, about 12 hours before the launch of the aggression.

The Prime Minister conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the leader of the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, to the family of Major General Faisal Rajab, his brothers, his loved ones, and his military comrades, who are all eager to meet him, and to all the national personalities in Yemen, north and south, who welcome this historic decision issued by the revolution leader.

He stated that he received Rajab and in turn handed him over to the sons of Abyan and his sons and brothers who will take him to his Abyan province.

Bin Habtoor said, “I was also assigned to hand over Faisal Rajab a personal gift from the leader of the revolution, which consisted of a personal weapon, machine gun, pistol and other things, which indicates that the revolution leader does not have narrow and small accounts, but his accounts are on the broad national level and he looks with appreciation for all the people of Yemen from one end to the other.”

For his part, the head of the Prisoners Affairs Committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, confirmed that, under the directives of the revolution leader, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, the Supreme Political Council and the Supreme Military Command, Major General Faisal Rajab was pardoned, released, and handed over to the sheikhs of Abyan in honor of their presence in the capital, Sana’a.

He denied what the other party’s media is promoting about the release of the prisoner, Major General Faisal Rajab, in the next deal. On both sides, Major General Faisal Rajab was not one of them, and we have documents that prove our words.”

He added, “The documents are the agreement that was signed in the last round in Switzerland, which confirms that Major General Faisal Rajab was never part of the deal. Rather, the aim of their promotion is to thwart your efforts and show themselves that they were interested in pursuing his release.”

“The rest of the rounds, especially the decisive rounds in which it was agreed to implement the deals, the name of the captive Rajab was not raised by the other party, whose focus was on the Saudi prisoners and some of the names of the appointed leaders,” he said.

He explained that in the last agreement that was signed in March of last year, four names of the leaders were included, namely Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, Nasser Mansour Hadi, Afash Tariq and Muhammad Muhammad Salih Afash, and agreed upon and released them in the last deal, the “Ramadan Deal”.

He said, “In the sixth Amman tour, which was held at the beginning of July of last year, we offered them to include the prisoner, Major General Faisal Rajab, in the deal, after we disagreed over the names of the leaders that were included in the agreement, instead of Tariq Afash’s son or his brother, unfortunately, our offer was rejected absolute, and they considered it impossible.”

He indicated that in the last deal, the “Ramadan Deal”, the committee presented to the other party, three days before the implementation of the agreement, its full readiness to include the prisoner Faisal Rajab in the deal and release him along with his colleagues Al-Subaihi and Nasser Mansour Hadi, in exchange for a group of prisoners , unfortunately, it was rejected by the other party, informing us that the time was not appropriate and that it was not ready, and asked us to postpone the matter, knowing that our offer in return for the release of Major General Rajab was not unfair or exaggerated, but rather we asked in return for that number that was made in return for the release of Tariq’s brother or his son or Nasser Mansour Hadi.

Al-Murtada continued, “We do not know the reasons for the repeated refusal by the other party and its background, but we believe that our brothers who honored us from Abyan and Shabwa provinces know the reasons and backgrounds of the rejection, and now, thanks to God, honoring and appreciating the leadership for your efforts, follow-up, and presence, the prisoner, Major General Faisal Rajab, has been pardoned, gained his freedom, and will be handed over to you.” Today, he will return to his family and his family.”

He talked about the existence of many leaders and prisoners, adding, “We affirm that we still have many leaders and prisoners, and we are fully prepared to enter into a comprehensive deal that does not exclude anyone in the event that the other party is ready for that, and we are serious and we ask the United Nations to put pressure on the other party to implement what was agreed upon in Switzerland last month.

Al-Murtada expressed confidence that such meetings and situations will thwart the enemy’s plans and that the Yemeni people are able, with the help of God, to unite ranks, join efforts and cooperate to restore rights, wealth and capabilities.
