IMCTC Secretary-General Receives Defense Minister of Burkina Faso


Riyadh, Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen. Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs of Burkina Faso Kassoum Coulibaly and his accompanying delegation at the coalition headquarters in Riyadh today.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed various topics related to combating terrorism and ways to enhance cooperation.

The Defense Minister of Burkina Faso and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the key activities of the coalition and its methodology in combating terrorism across the four fields of ideology, media, combating terrorist financing, and military aspects. They were also briefed on the coalition’s publications, studies, and research related to the same fields.

Coulibaly toured the Situation Awareness Room, which is concerned with monitoring and tracking operations and issuing reports and statistics related to terrorist groups worldwide.

At the end of the visit, the minister commended the effort
s and professional techniques, which are all systematically geared towards combating extremist groups, in addition to the support provided by the coalition in serving the member states to confront extremist organizations.

Al-Moghedi expressed his appreciation for the minister’s visit while also commending Burkina Faso’s efforts in fighting terrorism. The secretary-general stressed the coalition’s commitment to supporting member states through relevant initiatives in combating terrorism and extremist organizations.
