ABU DHABI, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, highlighted that, under the directives of the UAE leadership, the UAE continues to empower the industrial sector and increase its competitiveness by leveraging its resources, advantages and capabilities. “The UAE’s leadership is ambitious, optimistic, and proactively works to create a resilient environment that helps the sector realise its potential.”

Commenting on the launch of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy by H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Dr. Al Jaber said, “In line with the leadership’s vision, the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology aims to double its efforts, prepare for the future, contribute to diversifying the economy, leverage competitive advantages and integrate efforts to build a robust industrial sector based on incentives, world-class infrastructure, and an attractive investment environment.”

He continued, “The Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy complements the achievements of the Industrial strategy of the UAE which was launched in order to boost the industrial sector and increase its contribution to the national economy. Within a short period of time, the UAE has developed its industrial ecosystem by focusing on existing industries, paving the way for future industries and attracting industrial investments. The strategy will support national industrial growth, nurture and empower Emirati talent, create a smart circular economy, develop a sustainable ecosystem, invest in future technologies, and enhance partnerships with the private sector. In addition, it will create a business environment that supports investors and entrepreneurs, through new programs such as Make in the Emirates, which is a pioneering step in the UAE’s industrial growth journey.”

“The new strategy will support the UAE’s net zero by 2050 target and the National Climate Change Plan by enhancing opportunities within the green industrial sector and promoting smart manufacturing and energy efficiency,” Dr. Al Jaber explained.

He said, “The UAE has many advantages that position it as a global manufacturing and industrial hub. These advantages include its strategic geographic location, export capabilities, access to major supply chains and free trade agreements, supportive policies and regulatory frameworks, raw materials, a mix of traditional and renewable energy, a skilled workforce, an advanced transport, logistics, communication and information technology infrastructure and an ideal quality of life in a diverse, stable, and secure society.

“I commend Abu Dhabi’s industrial efforts to develop specialised zones that are of the highest international standards and contribute to attracting investments in the industrial, manufacturing and advanced technology sectors. We are confident that in the near-term, the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy will contribute to achieving a major leap in the national industrial sector and have a positive impact on the local economy.”
