Libya’s High Council of State Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

Libya’s High Council of State on Tuesday strongly condemned the armed clashes taking place inside the capital, Tripoli, endangering lives and property.

In a statement, the Council called on all warring parties to immediately cease fire, give priority to the voice of reason, and resolve problems through peaceful and legal means.

The council stressed its firm position that totally rejects all wars across Libya in general and Tripoli in particular.

For its part, the Libyan Parliament called on all parties to immediately stop clashes in the south of the capital, and to resort to the language of reason.
