Ministry of Education organises joint meeting with higher education institutions

DUBAI, The Ministry of Education organised a joint meeting with representatives of higher education institutions, attended by Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education, along with officials from the ministry, universities heads and officials public and private higher education establishments.

The meeting aimed to strengthen the cooperation between the ministry and higher education establishment, by exchanging views, discussing opportunities and challenges, raising the awareness of higher education establishments of the role of the National Qualifications Centre as the authority responsible for the national qualifications system, and promoting the principle of life-long education and individuals skills and ensuring readiness for the labour market.

During the meeting, Al Hammadi lauded the efforts and cooperation of national higher education establishments during the previous period, stating, “We aim to achieve progress that will strengthen the country’s international stature in the area of education.”

Dr. Mohammed Al Mu’alla, Under-Secretary for Academic Affairs at the Ministry, presented the “Higher Education Initiatives Plan,” which is a part of the “Higher Education Strategic Plan 2023-2026,” to implement initiatives targeting students who are about to enrol in universities.

He also presented programmes and activities for graduates and called on those concerned to double their efforts to support them.

Dr. Mohammed bin Yousef Bani Yas, Higher Education Advisor at the National Qualifications Centre, said the meeting highlighted the ministry’s keenness to communicate with heads of universities and explore their academic programmes, as well as brief them about the national qualifications system.
