Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) has issued the new practice guide for parties to the court, which is the key reference for its all proceedings and rules required by litigants or their legal representatives during their pleadings before the court.
The guide provides an integrated framework that includes the most important procedures of the QICDRC pertaining to witness’s testimony, documents disclosure requests, the structural arguments, the chronology of lawsuit, and the appeals.
In addition, the QICDRC’s directions were issued to help litigants review the nature of lawsuit progress in advance.
The QICDRC has outstanding staff from several countries with various specializations as well as diverse legal representatives, who come from countries with different specializations precipitating the existence of a unified practice guide to serve as an underlying reference for all, including judges, parties, and their legal representatives to effectively advance the lawsuit proceedings.
The new practice guide is available online on QICDRC’s portal both in Arabic and English and its issuance comes within the framework of the QICDRC’s ongoing endeavor to upgrade its judicial services within the efforts aimed at achieving prompt justice and settling disputes effectively and smoothly through its judicial channels in accordance with the applicable world-class practices and its ironclad commitment to maintain law sovereignty.
Established by the QFC Law No. 2 of 2009, the QICDRC was founded to be the final piece of the State of Qatar’s initiative to build a world-class international financial centre. It was designed to be part of the QFC strategy to advance Qatar’s economic diversification efforts in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 by attracting foreign direct investments and international businesses to Qatar. Litigants who choose to resort to the Court to resolve their disputes benefit from a quick and cost-effective dispute resolution process.
