Qatar Participates in 9th Meeting of GCC Undersecretaries of Social Development Ministries

The State of Qatar participated in the ninth meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Social Development Affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held today, via visual communication technology.

The country was represented at the meeting by Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Ghanim bin Mubarak Al Kuwari.

During the meeting, they reviewed the decision of the Supreme Council in its 44th session regarding the unified guiding law (system) for the empowerment of persons with disabilities, the volunteer work law, and the decision of the Ministerial Council in its session (153) held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in September of last year, regarding protecting Moral, religious and family values in Gulf societies.

The meeting also discussed a decision regarding the adoption of the general framework for the tasks and responsibilities of the joint charitable work committee in the GCC countries, and reviewed the strategy of joint Gulf action for women’s affairs in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and the efforts made in this regard.

The participants also discussed the issue of developing criteria for honoring pioneering projects in the fields of social work and the leading personality in this field.

The meeting touched on the first initiative of the social development strategy for the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf concerned with drafting unified policies for the cohesion and stability of Gulf society and enhancing the spirit of Gulf citizenship and Arab and Islamic identity.
