The International Red Cross called on Friday to protect medical facilities and workers in the war-torn Gaza Strip, warning that the health system there “has reached the point of no return.”
The International Committee of the Red Cross said in a statement that “in recent days, our teams distributed vital supplies to medical structures across Gaza, and saw “horrific images that have now become worse due to the escalation of hostilities.”
It added: “This severely affected hospitals and ambulances and caused heavy losses to civilians, patients and medical staff.”
It continued: “The health care system in Gaza, which is overstretched and operating with increasingly meager supplies, has reached the point of no return.”/End
