Royal Commission for Jubail Receives RIMA-I Recognition Award

The Royal Commission for Jubail, represented by its education sector, has received a recognition award from the Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Association International (RIMA-I) at the 2023 International Reflective Insulation Manufacturers Conference (I-RIM Conference), held in Rome, for its development of a computer program based on artificial intelligence that calculates the thermal resistance of steel construction columns containing reflective insulators with an accuracy of up to 99%. The program is the only one of its kind.

Director of the Deanship of Research and Industrial Development at the Royal Commission for Jubail Dr. Saleh Alshehri said that this program is the result of research conducted by the Research and Industrial Development Agency in the field of energy conservation; the agency’s scientific research focuses on studying advanced methods of insulation for residential and commercial buildings, whether in old or modern cities, in a way that makes saving energy an achievable goal.

Chair of Research and Consultations Department at the Deanship of Research and Industrial Development Dr. Hamed Saber said that presenting this innovation at the conference was an opportunity to demonstrate the progress and development of research in reflective insulators at the Royal Commission for Jubail. He added that through the multiplicity of research and innovations, the Research and Consultations Department has become a global reference in this field, with international organizations concerned with specifications and standards reaching out to register such innovations and tools.

Director General of the General Administration of Education at the Royal Commission for Jubail Dr. Fadye Al-Fayad praised the commission’s endeavor to improve the working conditions of the staff and support research and innovation, contributing to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and to projecting a positive image of the country and of the commission.
