Saudi warns against unauthorised charities

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has said that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) is the sole entity authorised to receive donations and deliver them to those in need abroad.

The ministry pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s donation campaigns to assist countries during disasters follow certain procedures, to ensure that donations reach the intended recipients and are not exploited to undermine security.

It stressed that any activities to collect donations other than through this channel will be penalised according to the law. It called on the public to report any violations by calling 911 in Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern regions and 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
