SHARJAH, The Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF) is taking place this week, bringing together over 1,600 attendees and 50 local, Arab, and international economic experts and decision-makers.
The two-day event, hosted by the Sharjah FDI Office, will focus on current market shifts and developments impacting the global investment landscape.
The keynote speech will be given by Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy, offering insights into the state of the economy and the government’s plans for sustainable growth.
The theme of the event is “Redefining Economies: Making Significant Strides for a Better Future,” aligning with the UAE’s vision for sustainable development through diversifying income sources and enhancing key economic sectors.
Prominent speakers at the event include Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development in Hong Kong, and Cheung Kwok-kwan, SBS, JP Deputy Secretary for Justice, who will provide an overview of Hong Kong’s strategies to attract foreign investment.
Shark Tank celebrities Daymond John and Robert Herjavek will also be sharing their entrepreneurial experiences. Local officials, including Omar Swaina Al Suwaidi, Under-Secretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, will discuss prospects for a green and sustainable economy, the future of the virtual economy, and the role of family businesses in supporting regional economies.
The SIF 2023 will feature panel discussions, interactive workshops, and sessions dedicated to the latest developments in sectors such as agriculture, health, education, and food security, as well as the impact of modern technologies on future cities and societies.
On the first day of the SIF 2023, discussions will centre on virtual economy, green economy, Sharjah’s investment landscape, and women’s entrepreneurship in the digital age. The second day of the forum will delve into topics such as regional initiatives for company growth, the future of family businesses, the evolving entrepreneurial journey, financial technology, and opportunities for investment expansion between Sharjah and Hong Kong.
The SIF 2023 features a new addition, the “Investor Lounge”, offering attendees the chance to connect with international investment sector leaders and network. A dedicated exhibition will also be held during the forum to display projects and initiatives in sectors such as sustainability, trade, and real estate.
The SIF is a highly regarded annual event organised by the Sharjah FDI Office, attracting top global figures to discuss the future of the economy and investment opportunities for driving economic growth and creating a better future.
