The Egyptian army announces the rescue of 37 people from drowning

The Egyptian Navy announced that it was able to evacuate and rescue a tourist boat carrying 37 people of different nationalities at the Red Sea Naval Base, after it sank.

The Egyptian army statement said that a distress signal was received from the launch, with 14 English citizens, 3 Germans, 4 Belgians, 3 Spanish, an Irish citizen, a Swiss citizen, 8 Egyptians from the launch crew and 3 divers, and immediately orders were issued by the General Command of the Armed Forces to push a coastal traffic launch to provide aid and rescue, and it succeeded in rescuing all the passengers of the tourist boat and providing the necessary medical and administrative care upon arrival at the military pier.

A water leakage inside a tourist launch named Carlton caused it to sink in the Red Sea, during a cruise north of Hurghada, Red Sea Governorate.

Immediately after sending a distress message from the captain of the boat, who was surprised by the water leakage inside the launch, a number of tourist launches and boats that were sailing near them and belonging to a number of concerned authorities moved, which were able to rescue 26 tourists of different nationalities, and 8 members of the launch crew, in addition to 3 others are dive guides.

The examination revealed that the boat captain was surprised by the water leakage into the launch, while sailing on a regular cruise, due to the activity of the wind movement and the high level of waves, which infiltrated into the launch.

An official source stated that all those on board the launch are fine and in good health, and there are no injuries among them, and they are now in their residence in tourist hotels./ End
