The Ministerial Council For National Security Discusses Transforming Federal Police Into Forces With A Military System And Reducing Protections Of Officials

The Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Muhammad Al-Sudani, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Council for National Security.

The spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahia Rasool, said in a statement: “The meeting discussed the study of transforming the federal police forces into forces with a military system, and assigning them tasks less than those of the army and more than those of the police, after these forces proved that they have a great deal of professionalism, especially after the victories it achieved over the terrorist gangs of ISIS, and assigning it to other tasks showed the extent of its commitment to security and military work.

In another axis, according to the statement, the Council approved the controls for tinting vehicles windows, through a committee formed in the Ministry of Interior, which set the mechanism for shading, its percentage, and the people allowed in this matter, in addition to the number of vehicles allowed to be tinted, and this includes citizens as well.

The content of the Ministry of Interior’s study on reducing the number of officials’ protections was also discussed.

The spokesman added: “The council discussed other issues on the agenda and took appropriate decisions and directives in this regard.”/ End
