The President Stresses The Necessity Of Strengthening Relations Between Iraq And Armenia And Consolidating Joint Cooperation In Various Fields

The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, stressed the need to strengthen relations between Iraq and Armenia and consolidate joint cooperation in various fields.

A presidential statement stated: “The president met today, at the Baghdad Palace, with the new Armenian Chargé d’Affairs to Iraq, Robin Soghoyan, and the former Chargé d’Affairs, Alek Garibian, on the occasion of the end of his tenure.”

At the outset of the meeting, the President entrusted the Chargé d’Affairs with his greetings to the Armenian President, Vahagen Khachaturian, and his wishes for continued success. The President of the Republic also appreciated the efforts of the Chargé d’Affairs whose duties ended, wishing the new Chargé d’Affairs success in his upcoming duties in Iraq.

The President of the Republic stressed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries, consolidate joint cooperation in various fields, and benefit from the experiences of the two countries.

The President of the Republic also touched on the positive developments in Iraq.

For his part, the former Chargé d’Affairs expressed his wishes for further progress and development for Iraq, stressing that there had been good developments during the past years in the field of services and security, indicating that stability was reflected in the rise in trade dealings with Iraq to great levels, and there is a wide scope for work and cooperation.
