Trade Ministry discusses the third session of the Iraqi-American Council

The Ministry of Trade discussed with the American side the holding of the third session of the Iraqi-American Council.

A statement by the Ministry of Commerce stated that the Department of Foreign Economic Relations in the Ministry of Trade, through the Commercial Attaché in Washington, held a meeting with the American side, the official in charge of the South and Central Asia file, and the person in charge of the Iraq file in the Office of Commercial Representation (USTR).

The Director General of the Department, Riyadh Fakher Al-Hashemi, stated, according to the statement, that during the meeting, the topic of the third session of the Iraqi-American Trade and Investment Council meetings was discussed, which focuses on identifying obstacles and problems facing trade and investment by both sides.

Al-Hashemi added that the issue of intellectual property rights in Iraq and the measures taken by the government to protect them were discussed, as well as the challenges facing poultry exporters in Iraq.

He referred to the issue of the Iraqi-American business forum, which is scheduled to be held during the last quarter of this year, which is an important step through the meeting of the private sector (Iraqi and American).
