UAE wins gold medals in Budapest 2022 Word Stamp Championship

ABU DHABI, The Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) has won several laurels in the HUNFILEX Budapest 2022 Word Stamp Championship in Hungary.

Exhibitors from 44 countries participated in the show.

The EPA’s Ahmad Bin Eisa Alserkal won a gold medal for his exhibit “A Postal History Study of Airmail from Iraq 1919-1945” and a Vermeil medal for his exhibit “Abu Dhabi Stamps 1963-1973”.

Also, Mubarak Alkahtani won a Vermeil medal for his exhibit “Jeddah Postal History”, Omar Mohammad Ahmad won a silver medal for “A Glance on Stamps Used in Dubai”; Naseer bin Ahmad Alserkal won a silver medal for “Dubai Stamps” and Fuad Shirazi also won a silver medal for “Iran Postal History during Reza Shah Pahlavi (1925-1941).”

Omar Mohammad Ahmad was the National Commissioner, and Muhammad Javaid was invited as a Jury from the UAE. Ali Abdulrahman Ahmad, EPA Treasurer, also attended the exhibition.

These achievements have enhanced the UAE’s prestige in the world of philately and are a great honour for the country.
