UK to loan USD three billion to aid Ukraine’s revival

British PrimeMinister Rishi Sunak announced Wednesday UK’s government decision to guarantee USD three billion in loans to Ukraine through the World Bank, which will be delivered in next three years.

Sunak during Ukraine Recovery Conference said “As we’ve seen in Bakhmut and Mariupol, what Russia cannot take it will seek to destroy. They want to do the same to Ukraine’s economy.” He added that 400 companies from 38 countries have expressed their support and participation in this initiative, which is fastest way to revive Ukraine.

In addition, “We must bring to bear a partnership of governments, international financial institutions and business leaders, all of us here today, to make this happen.

On the other hand, he indicated that international sanctions against Russia will remain in place until it compensates for all the losses it inflicted on Ukraine and its infrastructure.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community to stand by his country with economic and military areas.

Millions jobs have been affected by the war and economy, Zelensky said in a video link to the participants in the conference.

President Zelensky praised international efforts and pledges that began to be announced from this conference, and stressed a rapid transition to the stage of implementing projects.

Zelensky also urged the Western allies to enable his country to become members of the European Union (EU) and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
