University of Sharjah celebrates graduation of ‘Uniview’ Space Simulator Programme participants

SHARJAH: The University of Sharjah (UoS) recently held a graduation ceremony for a group of employees from the Sharjah Science Museum who participated in the space simulator programm entitled ‘Uniview’, which was launched by the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST), in collaboration with the Centre for Continuing Education and Professional Development, for over four days.

The programme aims to train planetarians who use Uniview Space Simulator to operate the software successfully and educate the visitor at their planetariums.

Participants delved into the history of planetariums and received a detailed explanation of the Uniview Space Simulator, its control tools, and how to operate the Uniview programme, create profiles and bookmarks, as well as build a play list, control panels, and create custom events.

During the closing ceremony, participant applied the knowledge and skills they acquired from the “Uniview” program by presenting a simple show they created in the Sharjah
Planetarium.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Dr. Asmaa Nusairi, Director of the Center for Continuing Education and Professional Development at the University, Azza Al Harmodi from the Sharjah Science Museum, Ali Alkindi, Director of Support Services Department at SAASST, Marwan Shwaiki, the trainer and Director of the Sharjah Planetarium at SAASST, and Prof. Mashhoor Al-Wardat, Director of Academic Affairs at SAASST, as well as several employees from the University, Academy, and the Sharjah Science Museum.
