Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy met the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, at the margins of the G-7 summit in Hiroshima ,Japan, Saturday and debriefed him on his meeting with Arab leaders , among other issues.
“President Zelenskyy debriefed the President of the European Council on his meetings with the leaders of the League of Arab States,” Barend Leyts, Spokesperson for the European Council President, told journalists in Brussels without giving any details.
Zelenskiy attended a summit of the Arab League in Saudi Arabia on Friday.
Further, they discussed the preparation and run up to the NATO summit in Vilnius, said Leyts and also the latest developments on the battleground and the support of the EU to Ukraine in all fields.
Military support is also being stepped up with delivery of ammunition and a coalition being built for fighter jets, he noted.
The EU is fully behind the initiative for Ukraine?’s peace plan and intends to fully coordinate with the Member States on the next steps.
The EU will work with G7 partners to target every pillar of the Russian economy to ensure (Russian President) Putin?’s war machine fails, added the EU spokesperson.
