Dubai Police Academy receives IPSA International Award

The Dubai Police Academy has become the region’s first police institution to be awarded the International Excellence Award by the International Police Science Association (IPSA) for its best police practices, initiatives and community relations.

Prof. Major General Ghaith Ghanim Al Suwaidi, Acting Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Academic and Training Affairs, said the award reflects the Academy’s excellence in launching initiatives and programmes that support Dubai Police’s vision in ensuring the highest levels of all members of society, including people of determination.

Meanwhile, Prof. Brigadier Mohammed Butti Al Shamsi, Acting Director of the Dubai Police Academy, said the award crowns a series of initiatives they had launched to consolidate their social responsibility toward people of determination. He explained that the initiatives aim to empower people of determination and integrate them into society without discrimination.

“Our participation in this award is in line with the Dubai Police’s keenness to acclaim local, regional and international excellence awards by introducing the latest innovations and ideas in its operations as well as the application of international best practices in all fields,” Al Shamsi added.

Brigadier Sultan Ali Khamis Al Shamsi, Acting Deputy Director of the Dubai Police Academy, explained that winning IPSA Award is another example of how excellence has become a sustainable approach and way of life for the Academy. He further stressed that Dubai Police always seeks to consolidate the concept of total quality and apply the best international practices in police work.
