King Khalid University Ranks 501st globally as per Times Rankings

King Khalid University climbed 300 places to rank 501st globally, according to Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

Moreover, in the International Dimension Rankings, the university was ranked 117th globally and sixth locally among the top 200 international universities.

According to Vice President of Post Graduate Studies and Scientific Research Hamid Al-Qarni the university has achieved a significant milestone as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at global recognition. The plan’s objective is to rank among the top 200 universities worldwide by 2030, which is one of the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

This accomplishment has improved the university’s institutional and academic reputation regionally and internationally.

Director of the International Classification Unit Dr. Sami Al-Shehri said that the Times Classification of International Universities is based on five main areas. These areas are education (29.5%), research environment (29%), quality of research (30%), international dimension (7.5%), and industry (4%). The classification also includes 18 performance indicators that are professionally evaluated to ensure a balanced ratio for all academic and research aspects of universities.

This year’s rankings included more than 1,900 universities from 120 countries worldwide.
