The National Assembly (parliament) on Thursday condemned the recent burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden.
In a statement, the assembly strongly denounced the act committed by an extremist in Sweden, calling it a provocatice act against all Muslims.
The assembly expressed deep regret over the recurrence of such actions against Islamic holy symbols.
It called on world governments and parliaments to take legal action against these acts.
Last month, an extremist burned the Quran in front of a mosque in the Swedish capital Stockholm during Eid Al-Adha.
