Saudi Border Guard Evacuates Injured Turkish Seafarer Aboard Ship in Red Sea

The Saudi Border Guard has successfully evacuated a female Turkish sailor aboard a ship in the Red Sea after she sustained a head injury, said the Official Spokesman of the Border Guard, Col. Misfer Al-Quraini.

This occurred following a report received by the Jeddah Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (JMRCC) for the urgent medical evacuation of the Turkish sailor, the Official Spokesman clarified.

The ship’s location was determined and the patient has successfully been evacuated and transferred to Yanbu General Hospital, the Spokesman said, emphasizing that her condition is stable.

The evacuation is part of the humanitarian missions carried out by the Saudi Border Guard within the Kingdom’s maritime borders in accordance with the International Convention on Maritime Search and Rescue of 1979.
