Caretaker Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib began his activities on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 78) in New York by meeting with his Irish counterpart Micheál Martin. The pair stressed the importance of making justice in the case of the killing of UNIFIL’s Irish peacekeeper Private Sean Rooney. Bou Habib hailed the “important and constructive” role assumed by the UNIFIL’s Irish contingent. He also stressed “the importance of coordination between the Lebanese government, represented by the army, and the UNIFIL, to ensure the success of its peacekeeping mission and preserve stability and calm in the south, in addition to the regional security.” Bou Habib later participated in a ministerial meeting on the Middle East, at the invitation of Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

DUBAI, 17th September, 2023 (WAM) — Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Olama, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Emirates Health Services, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Emirates Health Services and Care.AI. The MoU aims to employ Generative AI technology in the application of patient room monitoring system to further enhance the standards of healthcare services that align with the strategic priorities and goals of the government and EHS. The MoU was signed by Dr. Yousif Mohammed Al Serkal, Director General of EHS, and Chakri Toleti, CEO of Care.ai, in the presence of Mubarak Ibrahim, Acting Executive Director of the Information Sector at EHS, and Dr. Zahid Al Sabti, CEO of Magenta Investments, as well as several representatives of both entities. The MoU aims to strengthen strategic partnerships in several areas to leverage Generative AI and implement the care.ai system across EHS healthcare facilities to achieve advanced patient care outcomes. This will be driven by smart and virtual care nursing platform covering emergency departments, operating rooms, intensive care units, neonatal units and others, which will enhance patient care. The care.ai platform will help classify patients based on several parameters such as their mental well-being and in preventing infections, in addition to supporting medical staff for rapid response and completing all patient care protocols. The system will also help in achieving comprehensive clinical decisions regarding the patient. This will further streamline workflow procedures, strengthen productivity, and assure better patient experiences. The service provider can also automate routine administrative tasks using the platform, which will enhance the efficiency of the professionals by automatically tracking and monitoring workflows and services using real-time data. Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar Al-Hakim, confirmed today, Monday, that the tripartite budget will turn the country into a workshop due to the capabilities it provides.

Al-Hakim’s office said in a statement: “The Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met with the new British Ambassador, Stephen Hitchen, wishing him success in his diplomatic mission in Iraq.”

Al-Hakim reiterated the importance of Iraq’s openness to its regional and international environment and its desire and endeavor in this direction, in a way that achieves the interests of its people, pointing to “the nature of the changes taking place in the Iraqi arena.”

He stated, “The tripartite budget will turn the country into a workshop by virtue of the capabilities, opportunities, and service, urban, and development projects it provides,” stressing the necessity of preserving Iraq’s stability as it is in the interest of regional and international stability.

Al-Hakim stressed the importance of reforming the administrative reality in the country, as it has suffered from overlapping and regression of laws, which requires modernizing it and updating the laws in line with the challenges and opportunities available.

The Directorate of Military Intelligence announced, today, Monday, the overthrow of four people accused of terrorism in Anbar and Baghdad.

The Directorate said in a statement, “With proactive operations and a distinguished intelligence effort, and according to accurate intelligence information from the 10th and 17th Divisions of the Military Intelligence Directorate, and in cooperation with the security forces holding the ground, elaborate ambushes were set up in Al-Thawra neighborhood and 20th Street, under the control of employees, which resulted in the arrest of 4 people.” They are accused of terrorism in accordance with the provisions of Article Four of the Anti-Terrorism Law in the districts of Fallujah, Mahmoudiya, and Karmat Al- Fallujah.”

It added, “These defendants belonged to ISIS terrorist gangs,” noting that “they were handed over to the requested authorities fundamentally.”

NEW YORK, 18th September, 2023 (WAM) — The 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 78) will feature the High-Level General Debate from 19th September to 26th September. UNGA President Dennis Francis will open the General Debate, themed “Rebuilding trust and reigniting global solidarity: Accelerating action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all.” The 78th session represents a crucial milestone in the journey towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) since it marks the halfway point to the global goals’ deadline. At the SDG Summit, leaders will review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 SDGs, providing high-level political guidance on transformative and accelerated actions. On 18th-19th September, ahead of the General Debate, the leaders will gather for the SDG Summit to review the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide high-level political guidance on transformative and accelerated actions leading up to the target year of 2030 for achieving the Goals. The agenda of the UNGA session also includes a High-Level Dialogue on Financing for Development, taking place on 20th September to follow up on the implementation of the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, which was adopted in 2015 to provide a new global framework for funding sustainable development by aligning all financing flows and policies with economic, social and environmental priorities. Also, on 20th September, the High-Level Meeting on Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response will take place to further mobilise political momentum, including through the integration of a multisectoral approach towards pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, given the multifaceted consequences of pandemics. On 21st September, the agenda of the session includes the Ministerial Meeting for the Summit of the Future, which will be an opportunity for Ministers to set out their vision and priorities for the Summit of the Future and to outline their expectations of the action-oriented outcomes that, based on the results of the SDG Summit, can be achieved in 2024 when Heads of State and Government meet. The High-level Meeting on Universal Health Coverage will take place on 21st September, representing an opportunity for countries and stakeholders to renew efforts and accelerate progress toward achieving health for all. The High-level Meeting on the Fight against Tuberculosis will be held on 22nd September under the theme of “Advancing science, finance and innovation, and their benefits, to urgently end the global tuberculosis epidemic, in particular, by ensuring equitable access to prevention, testing, treatment and care.”

Riyadh, According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), today moderate and torrential thundershowers, accompanied by strong winds are forecast for some parts of Jazan, Asir, Baha and Makkah regions.

The temperatures will continue to be low, accompanied by strong winds on some parts of Tabuk, Jawf, Northern Borders and Hail regions, as well as the northern parts of the Eastern region.

In the Red Sea, the winds would be northerly to northwesterly on the northern and central parts, registering a speed of 20 to 45km/h and southerly to southwesterly, on the southern part, registering a speed of 15 to 40km/h, with thunderstorm. In the Arabian Gulf, the winds would be southwesterly to northwesterly on the northern and central parts, registering a speed of 10 to 28km/h and southeasterly to southwesterly on southern part, registering a speed of 10 to 25km/h.

HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber (QC) and Chairman of the Made in Qatar exhibition’s Supreme Committee Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani announced that preparations for the 30,000 sqm exhibition are almost completed, where 355 industrial companies have registered for participation, including 92 new factories participating for the first time.

The ninth edition of the Made in Qatar exhibition will be held at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) from Nov. 29 to Dec. 2, with an expected participation of around 450 Qatari companies and factories in six industrial sectors.

In a statement on Monday, His Excellency said that preparations are in full swing, highlighting that the exhibition’s objective is to showcase national industries and products. The expo aims to encourage the Qatari industry, promote the national product, and foster cooperation between Qatari employers and local companies, as well as streamline discussions on partnerships and alliances to enhance the state’s industrial sector.

His Excellency emphasized that this year’s edition will focus on attracting domestic and foreign investments to Qatar’s industrial sector, indicating that the accompanying activities will provide an opportunity for businessmen and foreign investors to gain insights into Qatar’s industrial sector and investment opportunities available in this sector. The exhibition will also provide an opportunity for bilateral meetings between Qatari investors and their foreign counterparts, deal-making, and forging alliances and partnerships in the industrial sector.

QC Chairman indicated that the expo’s total area, which is 30,000 sqm, is nearly fully booked, highlighting that so far, about 355 industrial companies have registered for participation, including 92 new factories participating for the first time.

His Excellency stressed that QC welcomes all companies and factories operating in the state to participate in the exhibition and showcase their products and services to the Qatari business community and visitors.

His Excellency urged companies to quickly register and reserve space in the exhibition that aims to promote Qatari products, enhance the state’s industrial sector, and reduce dependence on imports.

Meanwhile, QC General Manager Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi presided over the meeting of the Technical Committee of the exhibition, which was held on Monday, to review the latest updates in organizing the exhibition.

The upcoming edition of the Made in Qatar exhibition is witnessing a high demand from industrial companies wishing to participate in it to introduce their industries and products, as approximately 85 percent of the exhibition’s total area has been reserved so far.
